Romano is a 2018 alumnus of CT JSHS. After high school, Romano obtained a Bachelor of Arts with honors in neuroscience at the University of Southern California. He then went on to obtain a Master of Science in translational biotechnology at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. Through this program, Romano met Dr. Lin, the director of the graduate program he participated in.

Questions asked:

1.     Can you tell everyone about your background? What’s your story of becoming the director of Translational Biotechnology at USC?

2.     How do you compare teaching versus researching? What qualities of each do you like and dislike?

3.     Have you seen characteristics of STEM students change over time? What do you love about today’s students, but also what characteristics do you feel may be lacking among today’s students?

4.     Your program offers business courses, many of which I’ve taken. Why is that? Why not stick to only scientific courses?

5.     What words of advice do you have for Connecticut High School Students?
